Lembert Dome, 4 miles round trip to the top.
Saturday: We all set off from the same trail head at 8am. I hiked to Cathedral Lake (7 miles roundtrip) for a day of picture taking and visiting with other hikers.
Too cold to swim, but it felt great to wash my hair in the lake.
John, Carrie, and Callie took the climber's route to Cathedral Peak - behind me, up and to the left. I watched with binoculars, eagerly waiting for their call on the radio.
John is standing and waving from the peak (it's true! I didn't have enough zoom power on the camera to get any closer, but the binoculars did confirm the sighting.)
John, Carrie, and Callie are all three on the peak - you can see their white helmets.
The next day we all hiked together to Cloud's Rest (14.2 miles, leaving from Tenaya Lake. Saw deer several times along the trail.
Just like old times - you try to get them to pose for a sweet sisters picture, and they have to fight...
The last part of the hike seemed like walking up the spine of a very large dinosaur. You could see off both sides, down to the valley.
Lots of people at the top, relaxing and enjoying the incredible view.
This place is very aptly named: Cloud's Rest.
Everywhere we looked were oceans of granite.
Looking down to Yosemite Valley.
Tenaya Lake in the background - that's where we started the hike.
Another view of Yosemite Valley.
Tenaya Lake close up.
Ready to head back...
Carrie and Callie skipped ahead and played on the log while they waited for me.
